Iredell Memorial Hospital

Overview

Iredell Health System includes Iredell Memorial Hospital, Iredell Wound & Hyperbaric Center, Iredell Home Health, corporate wellness programs, a skilled nursing facility and a physician network.  Iredell offers convenient and easy access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and comprehensive health services. Centers of Excellence include Women’s and Children’s; Cardiovascular; Cancer Care; Surgical Services and Wellness & Prevention.  While more and more independent hospitals are being purchased by large for-profit chains, the leadership of Iredell Health System continue to believe - as did the original trustees who signed the certificate of incorporation- that the community is well-served by a locally-owned, locally-operated hospital. Without shareholders or distant corporate offices, all profits remain in the community to provide services, modern equipment and highly skilled staff.

Demographics

Iredell Health System employs approximately 1,600 people making it the third largest employer in Iredell County.  The hospital has nearly 300 physicians and allied health employees on staff representing a variety of specialties.  While most of the work you will see performed by Iredell Health System personnel and physicians does take place within facility walls, Iredell Health System provides services to the community through charity care, health screenings, educational programs, support groups, cash and in-kind donations, covering the cost of salaries in such key areas as school nurses, and more.

Future Goals

As part of the community, Iiredell Health System leadership believes in "giving back" whenever possible.  Iiredell Health System and our employees support a variety of agencies and charities that also strive to improve the health and lives of local citizens. Among those are the March of Dimes March for Babies, the annual United Way campaign, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
