In addition to providing direct patient care, the Lead Therapist organizes, develops, directs, and supervises all aspects of Rehab Therapies (i.e. P.T., O.T., and Speech) in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times. As Lead Therapist, you are required to have effective leadership and supervisory skills, along with good communication skills for interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships. The Lead Therapist is responsible for staffing and scheduling to provide adequate coverage for patient treatments. You must maintain open and on-going communications with the Chief Nursing Officer and Case Managers to ensure patient, staff, and facility needs are met. The Lead Therapist position is primarily clinical (i.e., providing direct patient care) with occasional management responsibilities.
