Performs and/or coordinates a variety of patient care duties. Requires thorough knowledge of clinical medicine practice and procedures. Ability to assess and recognize the medical needs of patients and their families; ability to counsel and educate patients and family members; ability to explain to patient and families prescribed medications. Employee possesses the leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise other staff as needed as directed by the Clinical Manager. The responsibilities which any registered nurse can safely accept are determined by the variables in each nursing practice setting. These variables include: Educational preparation of the licensed registered nurse, including both the basic educational program and the knowledge and skills subsequently acquired by the nurse through continuing education and practice. Complexity of nursing task. The proximity of clients to personnel.The qualifications and number of staff. The accessible resources. Established policies, procedures, practices and channels of communication which lend support to the types of nursing service offered.License(s): Current valid North Carolina RN license to practice.Certification: CPR.
