Responsible for providing clean, properly packaged, sterile instruments and supplies to meet individual customer needs.
Education: High school diploma required. Sterile Reprocessing Technician Orientation and Training preferred.
Experience: Previous hospital Sterile Reprocessing experience preferred; no previous hospital work experience required but agrees to attend and complete Sterile Reprocessing Technician Orientation and Training during the probationary period (90 days).
Additional skills required: At completion of orientation and yearly, ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology.
