Responsibilities
The Applications Manager will be responsible for assisting the IS Director with planning, organizing, directing and monitoring activities and processes for the effective utilization of automated systems. The Applications Manager directly manages the department analyst personnel. The Applications Manger must be knowledgeable of all Hospital systems and how they relate to eachother. Familiarity with healthcare andhospital operations a must. Strongcommunications and project management skills are required. The Applications Manager is the team leader for all application support groups. This requires a delicate balance of supervisory duties and hands on support. Provide leadership for employees supervised, assisting them in time management, and finding cost effective solutions. Works cooperatively with other members of the department, demonstrating strong leadership, taking on added responsibility in busier times. Demonstrates strong organization skills to direct departmental employees and to guide complex multi-departmental project participants. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from IS Director, senior management, department management and end-users.
Education Requirements
Associate Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business MIS or related field required. Bachelor degree (B.S.) in InformationSystems, Computer Science, Business MIS or BS or BA degree in Healthcare or related field such as Medical Technology, Nursing, etc., preferred. Healthcare certification in financial or clinical areas desired.
Preferred: Four (4)+ years of job related experience in a multi-system healthcare environment involving management responsibilities within the IS Department. Previous IS experience in healthcare departmental operations (i.e., Finance/Business Office, Nursing, Laboratory, Radiology, etc.) is a plus. Minimum required: Three (3) years of job related experience ina multi-system environment involving management responsibilities within the IS Department.

Excellent communications skill (oral and written).
Excellent organization and people skills (working well with all levels of hospital and vendor personnel).
Assist with Hospital wide software, hardware, and services acquisitions.
Assist with project management techniques for selection, implementation, and interface activities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and personnel.
Ability to manage long term projects.
Ability to adjust errors and complaints.
Adaptability to manage stressful situations and deal with differing personalities.
