Under limited supervision performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information system assets, and protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Ensures that user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain the security required. Ensure adequate security controls are in place to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or destruction; provides management with status reports.
Education: Minimum of four year degree, military equivalence or a combination of education and hands on work experience equivalence.
Experience: Five or more years of data processing experience, including LAN administration, Operating system programming, or Business application programming. Five or more year experience administrating windows workstations and servers.
Additional skills required: Knowledge of multiple Operating system security programs, including RACF, AD and UNIX. Knowledge of the group shares and security in the Windows environment. Familiar with Server, desktop and remote access security architecture and its supporting infrastructures. Understanding of large networks and security configurations. Ability to query, update and append data in a SQL server database. Effective communication skills required. Must have ability to understand complex data processing concepts.
