About Vidant Medical Center
Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

Responsibilities
Assures adequate stock in Central Stores and requisition stock from the warehouse as necessary.
Assures that supply exchange carts are restocked and charge items are accounted for accurately as-on and other duties.
Supervises (with ability to perform) receiving and stocking of supplies in Central Stores.
May notify concerned parties of problems with delivery, order quantities, types of stock or other problems.
Supervises the checking and filling of supply or IV fluid requisitions from all hospital departments.
Assures accuracy of orders in terms of order number, description, unit of measure, and quantity.
Aids hospital departments with problems related to types of supplies, amounts or delivery.
Answers questions concerning types of supplies needed.
May aid departments with establishing realistic order quantities and assures these levels are maintained
Assures that orders are delivered to hospital departments in a timely manner.
Supervises and directs the activities of Central Stores personnel including hiring, training, scheduling and performance evaluation.
Supervises and directs department operation and personnel concerned with processing, sterilizing and delivering supplies and equipment: trains, schedules and does performance evaluations of personnel on assigned shift.
Supervise and direct all activities for the OR Case Cart process.
Supervises inventory counts and cleaning of supply areas.
Performs Central Service duties including processing, sterilizing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
May perform any of the following duties: retrieve and/or deliver sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment throughout the hospital.
Wash equipment and instruments by hand and machine in preparation for sterilization
Assemble and package instruments, supplies, and linens according to procedure.
Load, unload, and operate sterilizing equipment.
Change and/or check graphs, gauges, biological and other tests run in/on sterilizing equipment.
Answer the telephone take messages and fill supply requests.
Check and restock isolation and crash carts and Central Service shelves.
Check linen for hole and lint, patching and de-linting as necessary.
Maintain records such as, stamp and log items going into sterilizer, label trays and instruments, log telephone requests, log equipment issues, retrieve charge tickets and perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain adequate linen par levels for all departments that utilize linen.
Maintain Linen Management Systems collaborating with user areas.
Order and maintain linen inventory.
Demonstrates appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace - treating patients, their families, visitors, and staff with respect and dignity.
Minimum Requirements
High School plus less than 1 year of formal training or education CS Supervisor Certification or Eligibility
More than 3 years but less than 4 years
Progressively responsible experience in a hospital or other medical facility supply room or related experience; supervisory experience helpful.
One additional year of college education may be substituted for one year of the required experience with a maximum substitution of two years.
Supervises (with ability to perform) receiving and stocking of supplies in Central Stores.

1 full time vacancy, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
