Position Requirements
Education:High School Graduate or GED
Other Training/Certifications:BLS / CPR
Experience:Zero to six months related experience
Position Summary
The Program Associate of Adult Day provides direct care for impaired adults in a structured
group setting. He/She is expected to represent Adult Day in a professional manner. He/She
will feel confident and positive about being in an environment with impaired adults. He/she
must have the ability to handle potentially crisis/emergency situations effectively.

Essential Functions
Communicates concerns and observations during the course of patient care with the practitioner.
Assists with the preparation, serving, feeding, and cleanup of daily meals.
Performs daily housekeeping deities as assigned.
Has knowledge of, and practices, good infection control techniques and standard precautions.
(including but not limited to CDC hand washing guidelines, use of PPE)
Assists with planning, preparing and leading individual and group activities.
Assists with planning, preparing, and leading special or seasonal events including costuming.
Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of care provided.
Assists patient with mobility / ambulation (walking and / or transferring).
Assures treatment areas, equipment, and mats are presentable for patients at all times by performing daily cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.
Assists with clerical and other non-patient care related duties as assigned.
Maintains temperature logs for patient refrigerator, hydroculator and other equipment.
Assists participants with all personal care needs including toileting, showering, oral, nail, and skin.
Gathers and documents vital signs, CBGs, etc.

Manages the facility interior including but not limited to minor repairs, paint touch up, room
layouts, and decorating for events, holidays, etc.
Maintains current knowledge and competency in computer systems as applicable and required
for effective functioning of department/division.
Treats participants with respect, dignity, and individuality and demonstrates person-centered care practices
Participates in the team process as an active team member and directs issues or concerns about the program directly to his/her supervisor.
Adapts to necessary staffing situations at the center as needed and assists in maintaining the appropriate participant to staff ratios.
Promotes a calm and appropriately stimulating environment.
Uses good judgement and creativity when dealing with challenging behaviors
