Vidant Medical Center is looking for a Business Manager, Service Line Development to become a part of our Service Line Development team.
Responsibilities
Provides financial performance support for Service Line by utilizing expertise in quantitative analysis to assist administrators/managers with efficient service line management and business planning needs. Review productivity, time/attendance management, and staffing reports for cost avoidance. Monitor overtime/incentive and track opportunity for improvement. Assist the administrative team with data analysis that result in cost avoidance and revenue enhancement. Assist in the development of business plans for new services and procedures.
Monitor expense and revenue reports. Determine the etiology of variances from projected outcomes. Determine cost avoidance measures and assist the administrators/managers in tracking incremental improvement. Assist with revisions to revenue forecasts. Monitor charge entry accuracy and define opportunity to maximize profit.
Assist Executives and Administrators with Budget Preparation and Strategic Planning: Maintain volume reports throughout the year to assist with the volume projections for subsequent budget. Function as a liaison with financial departments to monitor and project financial impact to budget of strategic business changes. Maintain accurate records of expenses and sub-account performance in order to accurately establish budget targets. Participate in strategic planning initiatives, developing reliable forecasting models for volume.
Business/Tactical Plan Development. Identifies service line needs and directs business line development. Leads tactical plan development and implementation. Modifies plans, as appropriate, based on evaluations and changing dynamics. Develops business and tactical plans for expansion and refinement of existing services. Develops business and tactical plans for new services.
Program/Market Assessment. Seeks operational efficiencies in service areas. Develops methods for ongoing assessment of programs. Coordinates implementation of changes to improve quality/efficiencies.
Provides supervision of Technical Analyst, Administrative Secretary and other staff as assigned. Recruits and hires staff to meet service line needs. Assigns and supervises projects.- Performs employee performance appraisals. Facilitates staff development by providing feedback, consultation support and other assistance as needed.
Collaboration. Interfaces appropriately with Administrators, Directors, and other Service Line Leaders. Demonstrates professionalism in all endeavors and interactions. Acts as a resource for problem-solving in the hospital and service line. Communicates and disseminates plans when appropriate. Prepares presentations as part of normal business and clinical development. Responsible for ensuring the development initiatives support the missions, goals and values of Vidant Medical Center.
Professional Development. Demonstrates professionalism in all endeavors and interactions. Demonstrates continuous professional development. Develop and maintain skills required for quick and effective statistical analysis, using current market data and concise modeling techniques to effectively forecast new business opportunities. Seeks out and participates in educational programs and community experiences to increase professional competency.
Minimum Requirements
Masters Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field
Three to five years experience in working in a healthcare organization, preferably with Experience with development of business pro-forma and financial forecasting and working on complex projects that require multidisciplinary collaboration.
Proficient in Excel/Access or other related quantitative tools and in financial or managerial accounting.

Full-time (1.0 FTE) 40 hours/week
Hours/shifts: days and other hours as needed
Salary range $51,584-$82,534/annual
