About Vidant Medical Transport
Vidant Medical Transport provides critical care air and ground service to areas within 150 miles of Greenville, North Carolina. We are based at Vidant Medical Center, home of the region's only Level-1 Trauma Center and Children's Hospital. Vidant Medical Transport is nationally recognized for safety, quality and service. We are fully accredited by CAMTS (the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems). Since 1985, Vidant Medical Transport has been committed to building relationships with our partners, patients and the communities we serve.
The Transport Nurse functions as a professional representative of the Vidant Medical Transport system and shall support and up-hold the mission, goals, and objectives of the system at all times.
The Transport Nurse is responsible for rendering advanced life support care to critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care.
The Transport Nurse is responsible for thorough knowledge of the Vidant Medical Transport policies and procedures, and shall assist in meeting operational goals and objectives.
The Transport Nurse shall be responsible for supporting and participating in the Vidant Medical Transport Quality Improvement Plan.
The Transport Nurse will:
a. assist with the orientation of new personnel to the Vidant Medical Transport system;
b. identify areas for continuing education specific to transport crews' needs through chart reviews, crew interaction, etc;
c. assist the Chief Flight Nurse , Chief Flight Paramedic, and SDA in designing, implementing and updating the continuing education program for the Vidant Medical Transport system;
d. participate in continuing education activities to maintain current medical command status.
As an employee of the Vidant Medical Transport system, the Transport Nurse shall support continuity of service through flexibility in scheduling and base assignment. The Transport Nurse will be prepared and prompt in reporting for scheduled shifts as assigned.
The Transport Nurse shall participate in system wide and base site projects on an ongoing basis.
The Transport Nurse shall protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Vidant Medical Transport privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state laws.
3-5 Years of experience in an ICU or Emergency Department setting
ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC
One specialty certification for example, CEN, CFRN, or ability to achieve within a year of hiring
