Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.
This position will work closely with the Vidant Medical Center Senior Vice President for Clinical and Ancillary Support Services, leadership team and managers to provide support and analysis to improve the financial and operational performance of the division.
Key resource for strategic, financial, and operational information and leverage of financial tools.
Assist executive andmanagement teams set strategic vision and goals, monitor progress for success and recommend improvement opportunities. Responsible for completing special assignments as assigned.
Maintain and advance knowledge and skills in areas of:
Healthcare financial and operational reporting.
Thorough understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; and expertise in database programs such as EPSi, Healthspan EMR, UHC, CMS, Access and FoxPro.
Assist gathering data for annual budget development and ongoing review. Conducts variance analysis and completes monthly variance reports. Recommends strategies to address identified problems.
Serve as primary resource for collecting data by becoming knowledgeable and efficient in the use of existing decision support systems.
Function as key finance representative supporting business line performance analysis, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metric development and management reporting.
Provide assistance and advice in the development, implementation, or modification of methods, procedures, and/or systems and related policies, procedures and forms where process improvement opportunities exist.
Contribute in supplying data to help identify opportunities for revenue growth and expense reduction.
Work well under direct and indirect supervision, with broad guidelines and latitude across multifunctional areas.
Independently plan and arrange work according to deadlines with infrequent checks of performances. Effectively communicate updated priorities, challenges and resource needs.
Assist in the coordination of management reporting and review of ongoing financial, quality and other key performance indicators.
Assist division leadership in evaluating purchase and service contracts. Determine possible contract mechanisms and type of contracts. Evaluate proposals, negotiate cost and pricing along with terms
BS or BA in Healthcare Management, Business or Finance required.
5 years or more experience in effective communication both verbally and in writing, decision making, problem solving, group facilitation, strong analytics.
