Manages a wide variety of tasks relevant to physician and nursing information systems and their relationship with other information systems throughout the organization. Serves as liaison between Nursing, Physicians, and Information Technology. Works with Project Integration Analysts and designated hospital staff members to evaluate, design, implement enterprise-wide clinical information systems. Responsible for maintenance, upgrades and improvements to information systems as needed. Leads workflow redesign and process improvement in all nursing areas and other departments as assigned. Participates in nursing and ancillary project teams associated with development and/or implementation of clinical information systems. Collaborates with IT Educator to assess training needs and develop training for hospital staff.
Completion of accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred. Must possess strong analytical skills. Must possess strong communication, time management and organizational skills. Must be able to maintain high levels of confidentiality, use tact and diplomacy in interacting with all customers. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job specific standard satisfactorily.
Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience in an acute care medical-surgical or critical care setting. Prefer previous experience with implementation/maintenance of information systems. Meditech experience strongly desired.
