CT Technologist
CT Imaging Center located in the Imaging & Spine Center on Highway 54 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Applicants must be able to work a 40 Monday through Friday schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. which includes rotating Saturday coverage. Work schedule is subject to change based on business conditions.
The CT Technologist performs CT examinations using standardized protocols to assist in diagnostic evaluation and treatment of patients. Exams are performed under the direction of the radiologist and in accordance with radiation safety procedures. Direct patient care experience is essential as the CT Technologist explains the exam to the patient, screens for contraindications and risk factors, performs venipuncture and injects contrast material. The Technologist will evaluate studies for technical image quality, complete necessary paperwork, maintain accurate patient records, transmit images to PACS and verify transmittal. Technologists are expected to assist in other radiology areas as needed, train new personnel and student technologists, assist with clerical functions and maintain a neat and orderly work space.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, be highly motivated and patient centered, demonstrate initiative, have excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and a strong team player.
PREFERRED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
At least one year of clinical work experience in CT post graduation
OR
Two clinical rotations through CT modality while enrolled in radiologic science curriculum .
AND
Advanced ARRT certification in CT
Requires completion of a course of training in Radiology from an accredited institution and registration by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or must be registry eligible. Successful candidates have one year to become registered and are expected to maintain registry status and continuing education requirements throughout employment.
