Full-Time, Days (5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
Ideal candidate must be proficient in all aspects of routine Histology, including but not limited to, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, routine staining of slides, Frozen Sectioning and routine maintenance of stainers and processors . Specimen receiving and accessioning, cytology prep, some special stains and IHC will also be expected (training provided). This position requires a minimum of 1 year of histology experience, with HT (ASCP) certification or eligibility as defined by the ASCP. At hire, uncertified candidates must be eligible for HT (ASCP) certification and must obtain certification within 18 months of hire. This position will work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, with occasional rotating Saturdays. Scheduled work hours may vary for training purposes and departmental coverage needs.
Requires Associate's degree in or 60 semester hours of Biology or Chemistry and one year of work experience in field; or completion of a NCCLS accredited Histo Program; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must be HT (ASCP) certified or certification eligible with ASCP.
