Here at WakeMed, the Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services to all age groups including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management, airway management, aerosol medication administration, chest physical therapy, routine and advanced oxygen therapy, blood gas aquisition and analysis, pulmonary function testing, EKG acquisition and management, code blue and rapid response participation, neonatal resuscitation support at high risk infant deliveries, ventilator patient transport, and respiratory-focused patient teaching.
Experience Requirements :
Completion of all clinical rotations during Respiratory Care school required. Previous clinical Respiratory Care experience in a medical center of comparable size preferred.
Education Required :
Completion of the educational requirements for credentialing by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements :
North Carolina license required for all Respiratory Care Practitioners. BLS and NC RCP licenses required prior to employment. ACLS, PALS, and NRP required within one year of employment.
Hours of Work : 7:00pm - 7:00am
Weekend Requirements : As Needed
Call Requirements : As needed
