At WakeMed, the Respiratory Practitioner (RCP) provides airway management, administration of nebulized medications, secretion management and application of oxygen therapy within the scope of practice under physician orders. Patient populations consist of adult, pediatric and neonatal patients. The therapist plans,implements and evaluates effectiveness of therapy with communication to physician and health care team.
Experience Requirements :
Previous clinical Respiratory Care experience in a medical center of comparable size preferred. Strong interpersonal, assessment/action, airway management/ intubation, arterial puncture/A-line insertion and ventilator management skills preferred.
Education Required :
Completion of the educational requirements for credentialing by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements :
North Carolina license required for all Respiratory Care Practitioners. BLS and NC RCP licenses required prior to employment. ACLS required within one year of employment.
Hours of Work : 7:00pm - 7:00am
Weekend Requirements : Every Third
Call Requirements : As needed
