The Respiratory Therapist Team Leader is responsible for the clinical and technical leadership of the Respiratory Care staff. The RT Team Leader will ensure effective daily operation over area of responsibility. The RT Team Leader will continue to encompass responsibility for administering respiratory care under a physician's order including, but not limited to, all types of oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, intubation, arterial puncture and analysis, ECG's and mechanical ventilation of adult/pediatric/neonatal patients. The RT Team Leader plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy and facilitates the rental of equipment as needed. Completion of age specific competencies will be required. The RT Team Leader understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values and management of patient care services The RT Lead understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.
Experience Requirements :
Previous clinical Respiratory Care experience in a medical center of comparable size preferred. Demonstrates strong leadership skills, knowledge and abilities.
Education Required :
Associate Degree from an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program minimum. North Carolina license required for all Respiratory Care Practitioners. BLS required. ACLS, NRP and PALS required within first year.
Licensure/Certification Requirements :
North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner. NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Hours of Work : 7:00am - 7:00pm/ 7:00pm - 8:00am
Weekend Requirements : As Needed
Call Requirements : As needed
