Job Description

Answers phones, routes calls and or takes message. Triage basic patient care needs and generate a patient case or written message. Manages the scheduling of patient appointments. Registers new patients and maintains current demographic and insurance information for all patients. Verifies insurance eligibility and scans cards. Checks patients in and or out for visit. Accurate and appropriate use of ICD-10 and CPT codes. Post and charges and payments. Reconcile all financial data. Process patient referrals for test and referrals to specialists. Assist nursing and or other clinic personnel in follow up to ensure compliance, receipt of test results and reports from specialist. Process request for medical records from outside sources under the direction of the physician. Works with patient and clinic manager to effectively manage patient accounts. Assist as needed with any medication pre-authorization and or appeals. Provides clinical coverage when necessary performing duties within scope of CMA

CMA -Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Knowledge of practice management systems, office automation skills, and extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding. In addition, must possess experience assisting physician with patient care (vital signs, specimen collection, etc.). National medical assistant certification is required (AAMA or AMT).

Employment Type

Full Time: 36 or more hrs/wk
