Responsible for assisting the Director with overall management of the unit, including physical and human resource management and recruitment and retention efforts. Responsible for daily operations of the unit. Acts as a role model in the implementation of the nursing process. Directs nursing staff to meet the nursing requirements for the assigned shift and plans, if necessary for the next shift. Coordinates activities to ensure effective communication with the next shift. Responsible for quality patient care and the professional grwoth, development, and satisfaction of the staff. In the absence of the Department Director, will function in that role. This position does not routinely take a patient assisgnment. Qualifications include current NC or Multistate RN license; one - two years experience preferred.
