Prepares salads, beverages, and special items for meals. Makes sure items prepared are of highest quality. Uses designated serving utensils to correctly portion prepared items. Serves food onto plates for resident trays using portion control utensils and according to menu. Sets up service stations with items and supplies needed for meal service, so that service begins on schedule. Washes dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work area used and performs other cleaning tasks. Uses accepted and established food handling, food storage, and sanitation techniques. Meets productivity standards when completing job tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Ability to weigh, measure, and properly use utensils for serving portions.
Ability to maintain high standards of sanitation and personal cleanliness.
Ability to do basic math calculations.
Demonstrate ability to read, write, interpret, and follow oral and written instructions including computer printouts.
Ability to meet productivity standards when completing job tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and staff.
Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor and stand in one place for long periods of time.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Education and/or experience in food service that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
