The Clinical Dietitian is expected to provide quality comprehensive nutritional assessments and follow up for individuals who are intellectually disabled and/or have complex behavioral challenges. Job responsibilities include the following:
Maintains an assigned caseload
Communicates with other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team
Participates in department quality improvement programs
Salary Grade: GN09
Recruitment Range: $36,677.00 - 58,683.00
Work Location: Dietary Department
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Considerable knowledge of accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics.
Considerable skills in teaching, diet counseling, and communicating
Ability to develop and use effective audio-visual aids
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationshipsAbility to work independently
Management Preference: Registered Dietitian licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina.
Experience in working with individuals who are intellectually disabled and/or have complex behavioral challenges.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); or Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
