UNC OB-GYN is seeking an independent, team-oriented, detail-oriented, customer service focused Nurse Manager for busy OB-GYN, MIGS (Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery) and Urogynecology clinics at the UNC Hillsborough Medical Office Building. At the direction of the Clinical Director for the Off-Campus OB-GYN clinics and in collaboration with the Medical Directors for the clinics, the successful candidate will supervise and provide patient care for the three GYN clinics including nursing practice and procedures, patient flow and education, adherence to protocols and policies such as emergency procedures and infection control and scheduling staff. Successful candidate will exhibit flexibility, strong communication skills, the ability to multi task and desire to work with a broad variety of patients, providers and staff.
Management duties include but not limited to: Ensure appropriate care and services are available to patients and families, ensure adequate and appropriate clinic staffing, perform annual performance reviews, participation in quality and process improvement initiatives, provide and facilitate an environment conducive to staff continuing education needs, address and manage human resources issues and patient complaints/issues, and optimize staff engagement and patient satisfaction, effectively use clinical and financial information to establish and meet budgetary goals, implement strategies to increase revenue and cost-effectively manage personnel, supply, and equipment resources, evaluate the impact of strategic fiscal changes on quality outcomes, facilitate relationships with referral practices in collaboration with the Physician Liaison team, monitor EPIC Charge Review work queues on a regular basis in order to correct billing issues in a timely manner and other tasks assigned by the Clinical and Medical Directors.
Clinical duties include but not limited to direct patient care as follows: ability to triage patient calls related to topics pertinent to OB-GYN, MIGS and Urogyneoclogy; assistance with exams and procedures including cystoscopy, botox and coaptite injections, LEEPS, IUD insertion and removal, colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and others; ability to teach clean-intermittent catheterization; pessary management (ability to teach insertion and removal; ability with training to perform urodynamics studies; Coordinating patient records, follow-up on diagnotic tests, and patient education; EPIC inbasket management.
Supervisory and women's health care experience in womens health in an ambulatory setting preferred. EPIC experience preferred. This is a full time 40 hour per week position with rotation for early/late clinic coverage as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Eighteen (18) months of professional nursing experience in a tertiary care setting to include didactic and clinical experience in the area of assignment.
