MA II to work within the credentialed scope of practice. Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures. Maintains exam rooms and clinical area. Returns phone messages to patients, pharmacies, etc. Collects and prepares lab specimens/lab requisitions accurately. Schedules and obtains authorizations for referrals and/or procedures. Maintain physician scheduling, assist patient at check-in, accurate data entry of all demographics, Obtain copies of insurance cards, collect co-pays, private balances, obtains authorizations numbers from insurances company, assists patients with account inquiries, transaction entry with on-going supervision.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Has one year clinical experience as a Medical Assistant and current certificate/registration, or has less than 1 year experience with an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting with current certification/registration. BLS required. Current credentialing (certification/registration). Must maintain credentialing with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA). If employed prior to 3-1-2013 and credentialed with National Center for Competency Training (NCCT-NCMA) or National Healthcare Association (NHA-CCMA), the organization will recognize those credentials and require they be maintained. CPT and ICD-9 knowledge, basic account inquiry knowledge; intermediate computer skills, initiative/problem solving skills, and being able to work as a team play are required.
